Relationship Manager is a key role in fulfilling the Chamber’s day-to-day and long-term goals. The Relationship Manager must be a goal-oriented, well-organized, dynamic and highly motivated sales professional with three years’ experience in business-to-business sales. The Relationship Manager will be responsible for achieving sales objectives pertaining to new member sales and membership retention, generating and assessing potential new member leads and creating strategies and methods necessary to grow and retain Chamber memberships.
Must be familiar with the Microsoft Office Suite of products including Word, Excel and Outlook. He/she must also be effective in all methods of sales, from professional presentations to cold-calling, lead generation and networking. Availability for occasional early morning and after-hours events/meetings required, in addition to one overnight event requirement. The Relationship Manager will report to the Vice President of Member Services.
Duties and Responsibilities (Include but are not limited to):
- Achieving sales objectives pertaining to new member sales and membership retention.
- This position is primarily an inside sales position, but does require occasional outside sales calls.
- Responsible for creating unique, value-driven proposals and campaigns designed to sell and retain memberships to both large and small business entities and organizations in New Jersey.
- Generate and assess potential new member leads/prospects.
- Follow up with Chamber leads/prospects generated from the NJCC website.
- Create strategies and methods necessary to grow and retain Chamber memberships.
- Be effective in all methods of sales.
- Deliver professional presentations.
- Ability to effectively cold-call.
- Skilled networking abilities.
- Must be able to clearly articulate the benefits of membership to high level executives and decision makers representing business of all sizes.
- Participate in strategy development sessions with the Chamber’s senior leadership.
- Be available for and attend occasional early morning and after-hours events/meetings in addition to one overnight event, our Annual Walk to Washington.
- Maintain their Book of Business and all member information accurately in Chamber’s CRM database.
- Attend non-Chamber events that offer networking opportunities for lead generation and new member recruitment.
- Achieve quarterly sales goals/objectives.
- Assist the Senior Vice President, Member Services as needed.
- Assist in the solicitation and sale of sponsorships for Annual Golf Outing, and Annual Holiday Party.
- Assist in the solicitation and sale of advertising on the NJ Chamber website, Compass Newsletter, and Edge digital magazine.
- Represent the State Chamber at various morning, daytime and evening meetings, conferences, workshops, fundraisers, award programs, ribbon cuttings, etc., as approved by the SVP, Member Services.
